A Quick Update....

I now have a cell phone - 07-0256437. Feel free to call if you have/need urgent info. (from the US - 66 70256437, I think or maybe 66 07 256437).

We are taking this day to celebrate the life of our now 11 year old Maxwell. Tomorrow we plan to move to a local Bangkok house that been given to us by a family that is vacationing in New Zealand. In the coming days I will hopefully have the time and energy to complete the rest of the story.

Thank you everyone for all the good wishes, prayers and assitance.... We are so blessed to have you all in our lives...

All our love to you and yours,

Scott, Jo, Ben, Max & Q

The author T.S.Lewis, when asked why God did terrible things to people, said, "To wake us up." The events of the last few days have certainly had that effect on me, so much so that I can't sleep tonight. As a parent I can only imagine the terror you have experienced. It can take time to recover from such an overwhelming tragedy. My son Alexander Shonkwiler and daughter Kristina are so relieved to know Quinn and your family out ran the tsunami. God bless your courage and quick response.

Check out my 1st comment reply below to your 1st report of the tragedy. God says He hears our prayers before we utter them and by time we do He is already acting in His grace to answer them. His answers are not always what we want, but are always what we need. God bless.

Dear Joellen, Scott, Ben, Max & Quin,
We are so thankful you are all safe & together. Since you've been gone we have enjoyed following you on your journey. When we heard about the tsunami we were with family in Connecticut. We went to the computer to check your web site and were extremly grateful to immediately know you were all alive. Thank goodness for technology and for quick, clear thinking and fast running. The magnitude of this disaster is difficult to comprehend but becomes sadly clearer with each passing day. Our prayers & contributions go out to the many, many people devastated by this tragedy.
May the New Year bring "a move from concern to action".
Sending Max big belated birthday wishes!
With mountains of love, the Scowcroft's
